Violent crime is an ever-present threat in Georgia and around the country. When juveniles are involved it becomes a double tragedy. In a recent case in Macon a young man, age 18, was reportedly shot in the back by a 16-year-old boy. The boy and his twin brother got into an altercation with the 18-year-old, and one twin allegedly pulled a gun and shot him in the back. The fight had begun earlier in the day on school grounds but the shooting occurred off of school property. The young man who was shot is expected to recover.
Both of the twins were charged. They have been charged with aggravated assault and are being held in a juvenile detention center. The shooting reportedly happened at about 3:30 p.m. on Stevens Drive near Mercer University Drive.
