Drug possession could undo a teacher’s career

This is the situation a former school teacher is facing in Bibb County after his arrest for suspected drug possession. The school board in the district where the suspect works voted to terminate his employment prior to the start of the school year.

A teacher was indicted on charges of possession with intent to sell after he allegedly sold marijuana to a confidential informant. The informant was working for the Wilke’s County Sheriff’s Office. The teacher was subsequently charged with four counts of drug possession and with the possession of a weapon during the commission of the alleged crime.

The suspect was the subject of a grand jury that delivered an eleven count indictment against him. The indictments returned included possession of methamphetamine, marijuana and possession with intent to distribute of controlled substances. The substances included oxycodone, amphetamine, hydrocodone and alprazolam. There were other charges in the indictment that included possession of a pistol and a rifle and tools that could allegedly be used in committing a drug crime, digital scales and plastic bags.
